The noise model will be a very valuable tool for the city and port authorities in making planning decisions and to predict future noise impact on the port and its surroundings. The purpose of this study is to model the noise of container terminals at the port of Long Beach with the following specific objectives: (1) to determine, using noise mapping, the level of noise generated by the cargo handling and transport activities at the container terminals.
